Almost all the ballistic missiles and drones launched at Israel in an unprecedented attack on Saturday were intercepted, according to Israeli and American officials. More than 300 Iranian munitions were launched during the attack, but the majority were intercepted before reaching Israel. Israel’s military stated that “99%” of the projectiles were intercepted, with only a small number of ballistic missiles reaching their target. The U.S. also intercepted over 70 drones and three ballistic missiles. Israel operates a multi-layered missile defense system, including Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow 2 and 3. The attacks caused only light structural damage.
